Feel, Grow, Go, Together!

As part of the implementation process, an ambitious and cohesive medium-term planning demonstrating the progression of core knowledge (substantive) and skills (disciplinary) pupils will acquire in their study of PHSCE in each year group will be curated.  The medium-term plan will feature an overarching enquiry question which will map out the learning journey of pupils including their extended experiences and learning outcomes. The medium-term plan will be translated into child-friendly enquiry questions which will guide the learning journey of the pupils. Impact of this implementation process will include clear and precise triangulation between the medium-term plans, pupils' learning (as seen during learning observations), extended learning experiences and pupils’ books.

Zones of Regulation - EYFS

In EYFS they have started to embed the foundations of the  Zones of Regulation program. This helps children understand and manage their emotions by categorizing them into different "zones." It supports emotional regulation, self-awareness, and social skills, which are so crucial at this early stage of development. Introducing these concepts helps children begin to recognize their own feelings, understand when they might be in a certain zone, and learn strategies for moving between zones.

Maybe, The Real Treasure … - Year 1

Year 1 have been focusing on relationships where they made friendship chatterboxes. Each chatterbox had sentence starters and questions about their friendships. Children also danced and sang to a friendship song, listened to a story, role-played and remembered how Jesus behaved as a friend making links to RE. They also 'baked' a friendship cupcake with the qualities of they would like to see in their friend.

Feel it, Name it, Tame it!

- Year 3

Year 3 students have been engaging in the Zones of Regulation program, with a focus on understanding and recognizing more complex emotions and learning strategies for managing these feelings when entering different emotional zones. This program aims to help students improve emotional awareness, self-regulation, and social interactions by identifying various feelings and using coping strategies to manage them effectively.

Think Big, Dream Big, Lead Big! - Year 5
