Friendships in Faith

As part of the implementation process, an ambitious and cohesive medium-term planning demonstrating the progression of core knowledge (substantive) and skills (disciplinary) pupils will acquire in their study of RE in each year group will be curated.  The medium-term plan will feature an overarching enquiry question which will map out the learning journey of pupils including their extended experiences and learning outcomes. The medium-term plan will be translated into child-friendly enquiry questions which will guide the learning journey of the pupils. Impact of this implementation process will include clear and precise triangulation between the medium-term plans, pupils' learning (as seen during learning observations), extended learning experiences and pupils’ books.

Renewal, Growth, and Togetherness - EYFS

This picture captures the pupils’ excitement as they explore festivals and celebrations from around the world. As part of their learning, they eagerly shared stories of the special traditions their families take part in, describing how they decorate their homes to welcome these joyful occasions. Inspired by their science lessons on the beauty of spring, the children have created bright, colorful flowers and delicate buds, bringing their classroom to life. These cheerful decorations reflect the spirit of both Easter and Ramadan, symbolising renewal, growth, and togetherness.

A Tight Circle of Friends - KS1

In KS1, pupils have been exploring the meaning of friendship and why it matters to them. In this picture, they are sitting together in a circle— a shape they believe represents the warmth and security that friendship brings. To them, it’s a reminder that true friends make you feel safe, valued, and never alone. As they took turns sharing their thoughts, they spoke about kindness, trust, and the joy of having someone to laugh and play with.

Biblical Lessons - LKS2

If pictures could speak, this one would tell the rich and powerful stories of the Bible. In LKS2, pupils have been diving into historical biblical narratives, bringing them to life through their own interpretations. This picture captures their creative expressions, as they illustrate their understanding of these timeless stories in unique and thoughtful ways. Each drawing reflects not only their learning but also their personal connection to the events and lessons found within the Bible’s pages.

Who influences you? - UKS2

In UKS2, pupils have been exploring the power of influence and how it shapes our thoughts, choices, and actions. They delved into thought-provoking questions like Who influences you and why? and What impact do the people around us have? Through discussions and reflections, they examined the role of family, friends, role models, and even public figures in shaping their perspectives. This exploration helped them understand the importance of positive influences and the responsibility we all have in inspiring others.
