Pupils have been able to develop key spelling, punctuation and grammar skills in context, allowing them to express their thoughts with clarity and precision.

Segmenting and Blending - Reception

Reception have worked incredibly hard this year on developing their segmenting and blending skills. Their confidence in phonics has improved immensely and they are successfully applying their skills in their writing tasks.

The Storm Whale - Year 1

Year 1 have taken inspiration from the story ‘The Storm Whale’ to write a short narrative. They have worked hard at sequencing the key events, using accurate sentence punctuation as well as joining their simple sentences with conjunctions.
